Maths Day

Year 4 had a brilliant Maths Day! We had lots of fun playing the Game of Ladders and successfully worked out where different numbers belonged on our ladder. Next, we practised telling the time on IXL before challenging each other with a tell-the-time board game. In the afternoon, we got creative with some Mondrian-inspired maths art. We rolled dice to create a three-digit number and then represented our number through our colourful artwork. We had a fantastic day full of maths, creativity and fun, and we especially loved seeing everyone’s amazing outfits!

RE - A visit from Rev:

As part of their RE lessons, Year 4 have been focussing on the idea of ‘What kind of world did Jesus want?’ Linking to this, the children prepared some questions to ask Rev. Dan about his role as a vicar. It was wonderful to have Rev. Dan come into the classroom and speak to the class.

History – Settlers and Invaders:

We have been really enjoying their recent History unit. So far, they have been learning about the Anglo-Saxons. Using their iPads, they have been conducting their own research to find out interesting facts about the Anglo-Saxons, before making their own fact files.

Harvest:

As part of our preparation for Harvest, we have been learning and reciting a harvest poem to help us reflect on the importance of being thankful for the food we have and the hard work of those who provide it. We have also been painting colourful leaves, which will be used to create our class Harvest wreath. Through these activities, we have been celebrating the season and thinking about the many blessings we are fortunate to receive.
