YEAR 5 - 2025-2026

Chaplaincy Trip - 18/06/2026

The Year 5 chaplaincy helpers visited Holy Trinity Church to reflect on their year in this role. They considered both the positives and the challenges they experienced and then created their own books of Bible quotes during a time of reflection. Rev Dan also answered some of the children’s questions. 

Spirituality Day - 27/03/2026

For Spirituality Day, our focus was 'Experiencing Spirituality though Art'. We looked at the Creation Story as our Bible story and the children worked in groups to create pieces of art based on that Bible story.

Mill on the Brue - 23/03/2026-25/03/2026

Year 5 went away on a three-day residential trip to Mill on the Brue. During their stay, the children took part in a wide range of exciting activities, including climbing, canoeing, high ropes, zip‑lining, pizza making, and orienteering. They showed great teamwork, enthusiasm, and resilience throughout the trip, and returned with wonderful memories and new skills.

World Book Day - 05/03/2026

We dressed up as a book character for World Book Day. We read a book called 'Speak Up' which represented speaking up about subjects we are passionate about. The children planned and wrote a letter sharing what they'd like to speak up about.

We also completed paired reading with Class 5.

People and Places Day - 23/01/2026

For People and Places Day, we looked at Nelson Mandela and looked at how his life linked to one of our gears: emotional intelligence. We started the day by looking and dicussion about his life and the children made notes on how he felt throughout the big events throughout his life. The children worked together to create pop art portrait of Nelson Mandela.
