Local Study Trip - 01/10/2026

Classes 11 and 12 enjoyed a history walk into Yeovil town centre to learn more about Victorian Yeovil. The children compared old photographs with what Yeovil looks like today. They spotted things that had changed and things that had stayed the same. Everyone enjoyed looking closely at the buildings and discovering more about Yeovil’s Victorian past.

Harvest Preparation - 25/09/2026

As part of our preparations for Harvest, each child decorated a leaf for our class Harvest wreath and created their own Harvest artwork to share during our whole-school Harvest Service next week.

DT - Photoframes - 18/09/2026

The children researched, designed, created and evaluated their own Victorian-style photo frames. They carefully measured, sawed, decorated and glued the pieces of wood together to create their finished frames.

Year 4 - 2025-2026

Tutankhamun Exhibition School Trip

Our recent school trip to Dorchester was an exciting and enriching experience for all. The children were fascinated by the Tutankhamun Exhibition at the museum, where they learned about ancient Egyptian history and artefacts, sparking lots of curiosity and thoughtful questions. After exploring the museum, the children thoroughly enjoyed browsing and purchasing souvenirs in the gift shop. We then visited the Roman House in Dorchester, giving pupils the opportunity to step back in time and explore life in Roman Britain. It was a memorable day filled with learning, enjoyment, and enthusiasm.

Class 10 Writing - La Luna

The children have been working on a piece of writing inspired by the Disney Pixar short film La Luna. Using the film as a stimulus, they focused on including correctly punctuated speech to develop character interaction and move the action forward. Year 4 also worked on expanding their noun phrases to add rich detail and create vivid, descriptive sentences. The children really enjoyed the creative challenge and produced some lovely pieces of writing - please enjoy.

World Book Day

Today was a day full of imagination and problem solving. The class completed a variety of different activities: sharing their favourite story with their friends and some children in other year groups, designing book marks, completing word searches, debating and creating some persuasive writing.

The main two gears of the day were critical thinking and problem solving. We linked this to the book 'Speak up'. The children discussed the importance of speaking up when appropriate. They then had the choice of creating posters, writing a letter or writing a speech in support of saving the planet.

A great day was had by all!
