YEAR 5 - 2025-2026

Spirituality Day - 28/11/2025

For Spirituality Day, the theme was 'Experiencing Music through Spirituality'. We explored four different hymns with the themes: Gospel, Praise, Taizé and Contemporary.

The children listened and appraised the hymns and wrote down their initial thoughts. The children listened to the music again and create a piece of artwork around this. 

As well as that, Year 5 led the whole school Agape service at the end of the day.

History Day - 14/11/2025

For History Day in Year 5, we looked at Queen Elizabeth I and her reign. For part of the day, we completed an art activity where we completed the rest of the self portrait of Queen Elizabeth I.

 

Class 12 Inspire Morning - 14/10/2025

We had our Class Inspire Morning, where we worked with our adults to complete some maths activities and created printing artwork inspired by the Victorian artist William Morris.

Victorian Day - 22/09/2025

Year 5 had a great Victorian Day! They dressed up as Victorian children and enjoyed a day full of activities. They learnt about what it was like to go to school during the Victorians and took part in: handwriting, completed drills outside, made some Victorian sweets and made their own Union Jack flag.

Local Study Trip - 18/09/2025

Year 5 walked from school into the town centre to compare Victorian Yeovil with modern day Yeovil as part of the Victorians topic. The children had fun stopping at different points comparing the pictures.
